When you enter the enchanting showroom of Jacquie Aiche for the first time, you may feel as though you’ve been there before. The warm and friendly atmosphere surrounds you, making you feel like you want to stay for a while. Among the soft fragrant candles, you may find a young woman running around barefoot tending to her backyard garden while creating some of the most exquisite wearable art that is seen on the covers of fashion magazines around the world.
In a world where fine jewelry is mass-produced, this young designer, Jacquie Aiche, has created quite a stir in the industry with her stunning, handcrafted designs. Utilizing the highest quality materials; 18 and 14 karat gold and sterling silver, she adeptly blends precious and semi-precious gemstones; diamonds, rubies, emeralds and pink tourmalines with organic materials; such as minerals, rocks and fossils to create her unique pieces.
“Jewelry is very personal. It is intimate because it is close to a woman, caressing her skin. That is why my jewelry is organic and not mass produced. Each piece has an individual nature that must speak directly to the woman who wears it, capturing her unique mood and essence. "
Perhaps the distinctive nature of her designs can be attributed to her upbringing. Raised in a family with two diverse cultural influences (her father is Egyptian and her mother is American Indian), she often blends elements of the two. “From my Father I think I have come to love reworking ancient designs such as goddesses and amulets and hammered gold, integrating these forms with contrasting natural minerals and gemstones, turquoise and fossils which are all reminiscent of the Native American jewelry of my mother’s heritage. Then of course, there is that whimsical element that is all my own.”
Virtually unknown five years ago, her signature body necklaces and finger chain bracelets have gained worldwide attention, bringing luminaries in from around the world to be fitted in the Beverly Hills showroom. The experience is like being fitted for custom lingerie. The list of loyal celebrity and professional clients has quickly grown to include such names as Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Charlize Theron, Rachel McAdams, Emily Blunt, Penelope Cruz, Halle Berry, Demi Moore, Mary J. Blige, Miley Cyrus, Alessandra Ambrosio, Rosario Dawson, Kerry Washington, Mary Louise Parker, Jessica Alba, Kim Kardashian and Faith Hill now being seen wearing her original designs. They are also featured in magazines, films and television. “A woman’s natural beauty can be illuminated with the right piece of jewelry. And that is my mission. To create jewelry that will make every woman look and feel uniquely beautiful.”
