In 1848, on "the nicest street in the largest village in the world," Louis Brandt set up an assembly workshop in his family villa in La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland, that was to become the company we know as OMEGA. For more than 160 years, Omega timepieces have recorded the planet’s history. They have served with distinction in space, in the oceans’ depths and on the wrists of world leaders, explorers and men and women who appreciate OMEGA’s blend of performance and design. OMEGA has built its reputation on revolutionary watch movements. Master Chronometer watches earned that designation by passing tests approved by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology, placing Omegas's COSC-certified chronometer calibres in the spotlight once again.
